SKI ITINERARY. A TYPICAL WEEK.
Typical itinerary when staying with the Private Chalet Company
Sunday. Day 1 arrival
If you have arranged one of our transfers, you will have been picked up from the airport in one of our private mini buses and whisked to Ste-Foy by one of our own hosts.
During your journey your driver will let you know the latest snow conditions and advise you on the procedure for ski/snow board hire and that we will deliver your ski passes to you in your chalet
Upon arrival at your chalet we will be waiting to greet you and help with your bags.
This also applies to any guests that may have self –driven.
Monday. Day 2
Assuming you have your skis, if not, we will be helping you to arrange this.
We will then meet you along with any of the other guests from our other chalets that wish to take advantage of our free ski hosting service.
At the same time we will be helping to arrange for any of you or your children that have to get to the ski school meeting point.
At last we are ready
Monday. Day 2 Sainte Foy.
Ski hosting starts at 9.30 to allow for parents to leave children at ski school
We then all set off with enough of our ski hosts to be able to split the group up into smaller groups of differing abilities.
9.30 lets go and have some fun
We start off on blue runs, to allow you to get your ski/board legs back (although for ski hosting you must be able to tackle red runs)
11.00 pit stop, hot chocolate, or vin chaud or beer if you are naughty!!
At this point we will have split the group up as necessary.
The other reason we stop at 11.00 is to allow for any late starters, to catch up, or for any people that would prefer to free ski on their own.
Please remember the ski hosting is optional not obligatory
11.15/11.30 (not rigid)
Head off again in our groups for more slopes.
Sometimes we find certain people wish to spend longer in the bar that’s fine! Hay it’s your holiday.
12.00 noon
Around this time, some of you will want to go and meet children at ski school and for lunch. So those who want to break off, we will show them the way.
12.30 – 2.00 (again not rigid)
Stop for lunch, if you would like your host to join you for lunch it is customary for the group to chip in and pay for theirs. Alternatively he or she can leave you to enjoy your lunch and meet up with you again at 2.00 p.m.
2.00 p.m. yippee more of the same
In the afternoon session, we would hope that whichever group that you are in, you will already be progressing to more challenging runs and for those who would like to, we would hope to be skiing some of the free ride areas.
4/4.30 end of first day
Ski back to your chalet for afternoon tea and homemade cake, or ski to après – ski bar for some merriment!
Tuesday. Day 3 free skiing in Ste –Foy or ski safari out of resort to
Val d’ Isere and Tignes
You will be taken in our mini bus and escorted by one of our hosts around the fantastic area of Espace Killy, where you will be shown around the best runs at the best times.
Why not try the superb ski and board park or even race against a friend or family member on the timed dual slalom run. Then finish the day with a must visit to the legendary Folie Douce après ski bar with its outrageous live acts, music and fun fun fun.
Don’t blame us for your hang over or bar bill.
Usually there is more than one mini bus, so often it is possible for those who wish to return to the chalet without the après ski stop, can do so
Those who have decided to stay and party will take our later mini bus.
Thursday. Day 4 free skiing. Chalet day off
Friday. Day 5 free skiing Ste –Foy or ski safari to La Rosiere France and La Thuile in Italy
Another great day out hosted in both France and Italy ski where Hannibal came over with his elephants. Eat the best pizza and pasta in La Thuile. Remember to leave when your host says, as we have to get the last lift back over to France. Everybody loves this day out. Mini bus home to tea, cake or après ski.
Saturday day 6 last day’s skiing boo hoo hoo
Free skiing in Ste -Foy. Or maybe ski safari to Les arcs/La Plagne
Sunday day 7 transfer day see you next year
P.S. whilst we offer free ski hosting in Ste – Foy, we do make a nominal charge for ski hosting out of resort, this is purely to cover the out of resort ski pass and lunch for your host. The cost for this is only 10 euros per person.
Kind regards Nuala Steven and all your staff and hosts
